5th Bead Soup Blog Party Reveal!

The 5th Party, but only my 2nd time.
First, a recap.
Here are the ingredients I received to create a soup!

My BSBP partner, Jean from Eclectic Avenue, was so very generous, that I was able to make create 3 recipes!

First, a necklace.

A better view of the pendant she wrapped.

I didn't use all the components, so I made earrings!

Did I mention Jean's generosity???

Still had beads, so I chose to make a bracelet.  Having already used all the copper beads, I decided to do a little wrapping.
 The complete set.

These beads were a bit different for me, but much fun to work with.  What do you think?

Bead Soup Sent

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a teaser of what I sent to my soup partner.  Since she has received it,

I can now bring it into focus for you.  My favorite style of bead to make!

I knew Jean was not a fan of blue, but this isn't really blue, is it?

Besides, she said she does like this shade.

 Sterling toggle clasp.

I can't wait to see what she comes up with; she's great at design!

Here's a sneak peek at what I'm sending Jean, my Bead Soup Blog Party partner.

I've heard her favorite color is orange.

Bead Soup Arrival & Coinkydink !!!

Announcing my partner for the 5th BSBP:

Be sure to visit her beautiful blog, highlighting her amazing creations.  It's Jean's first time to the Party, but boy is she johnny-on-the-spot!  I  received a lovely package of soup yesterday, and an oh-so-special gift!

First, the soup:
There was fancy artwork even on the envelope, and inside was a beautiful ribbon-tied organza bag.

Just look at all the beady goodness inside!

A detailed wire wrapped focal, (which I think might be polymer clay?)

Feast your eyes ~
A handmade copper toggle clasp ~ gorgeous!

And copper bead components.

In the wee hours of Thursday morning on Quilting Post, my other blog, I wrote about a time that the Mr. had flowers sent to the house.  It was last fall when I opened them and asked "what's the occasion?"   "Just because", said he.

And yesterday evening, I opened this from Jean:

Among the items, this number.  Remarkable how she included the stamped 31, because at the time of the gift of flowers, we had been married 31 years, 8 months.

Yesterday, January 26th, 2012, we celebrated our 32nd anniversary! Thank you Jean, it made the day even more meaningful.

Also inside the bag was a wonderful assortment of copper stampings.
I can't wait to dive in and design with my soup!

REVEAL! Bead Soup Blog... PartyOn!

I had a wonderful time with my first bead soup exchange!  I humbly admit it was a challenge for me using components out of my level of confidence.  Just call me "Simple Simon"...I can do elaborate in glass, but not for complex jewelry design.

A reminder of my ingredients from Kitty

As I placed the first bead cap on a bead (my usual way below the bead), it suddenly occurred to me that fall is almost here and our massive oak reminded me also:
Acorns!

I decided to feature Kitty's resin pendant by surrounding it with acorns, and even had enough to make earrings, accented with
Kitty's handmade tags.
Notice the lovely detail on the clasp.
The Full View

Such a big pot of soup had enough for 2!

And even a 3rd set!
Handmade Pendant
As you've seen, the soup ingredients yielded 3 full recipes!
Here's the leftovers:
And they WILL get consumed!

At any rate, I am absolutely delighted with ALL of the results!  I just hope my partner, Kitty, agrees ;-) and I'd like to thank her again for sending such a delicious soup!
